Born in Tehran in 1969, Masoud Akhavanjam is a sculptor recognized for his dynamic and thought-provoking works. He began his journey in sculpture in 2011 after establishing his workshop, drawing on extensive experience from the manufacturing industry. His sculptures, often created from bronze, stainless steel, and other materials, explore the intersection of human nature and technology. Akhavanjam’s works have been showcased at prominent international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale with the GAA Foundation in 2017, 2019, and 2022. His pieces have also been featured at leading UK venues such as Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Cotswold Sculpture Park, Doddington Hall, and Cromwell Place in London. He has participated in major art events, including Abu Dhabi Art, and CONTEXT Art Miami, and his works have been auctioned at Phillips and the Tehran Auction. He currently lives and works between Greece and the United Kingdom.
His pieces in the DIFC Sculpture Park spark a dialogue about the constant conflict between humanity and nature, inviting viewers to engage with his philosophy on maintaining a habitable and sustainable environment for future generations.
