EDITIONS ART & DESIGN

6-9 November 2024
THE MIDDLE EAST’S FAIR LIMITED EDITION ART AND DESIGN
Booth: E 37

Marjan Farjam Projects is excited to present its debut exhibition at the inaugural Editions Dubai Art Fair, running from November 6-9. Titled Subversive Renaissance, the exhibition showcases the works of Aydin Aghdashloo, Masoud Akhavanjam, and Fabio Mazzeo. For the first time, a selection of limited edition silkscreen and giclée prints by Aydin will be featured, alongside Masoud’s innovative sculptures and Fabio’s luxurious, intricately designed pieces. Though each artist’s style is unique, Subversive Renaissance brings together their shared vision of redefining the concept of renaissance in contemporary art.

Aydin Aghdashloo

Aydin Aghdashloo stands out as one of the most celebrated artists in modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art. Renowned for his intricate painting technique, he has produced a body of work deeply influenced by the socio-political dynamics of his home country, while also engaging with universal concepts and aesthetics. His unique style draws from a multiplicity of sources, including Renaissance paintings and Persian art, subverting them in what is interpreted as a polemic against tyranny, violence, and the destruction of beauty.

Fabio Mazzeo

Fabio Mazzeo is an internationally renowned architect and designer, celebrated for creating extraordinary spaces that redefine design as a form of art. His work spans architecture, distinctive interiors, and the creation of unique, one-of-a-kind décor and furniture pieces. Drawing inspiration from Renaissance artistry, his designs are crafted with meticulous attention to detail and made from the finest materials, embodying elegance, intricacy, and timeless beauty. Mazzeo’s dedication to craftsmanship has earned him numerous prestigious awards and international acclaim.

Masoud Akhavanjam

Born in Iran and raised in Germany, Masoud Akhavanjam is an avant-garde sculptor known for his mastery of bronze and polished stainless steel. His experience working in his father’s manufacturing company sparked his appreciation for these materials, particularly the reflective quality of stainless steel. The fluidity of his designs, contrasted with the industrial strength of his materials, reflects the dualities his work explores: good and evil, abstraction and definition, and the ongoing search for harmony in human existence.
